The Art of the Gong: Gong Master Training

There is a moment, somewhere in the first evening, when the room stops being a room. The gongs build until the sound fills every corner, there is nothing left to brace against, and the thinking mind finally goes quiet. Everyone who comes to this work knows that moment. It is why they come.

This training is about learning to create it.

Over four days you move from receiving the sound to making it. You stand in front of the instrument with a mallet in your hand and discover how much lives in a single stroke: where you strike, how much pressure, what angle, what intention. You learn to listen before you play, to read a room and feel what it needs. You learn what the gong does inside a body, and why.
