The Art of the Gong: Inside Noelia Madiedo's Private Sound Healing Apprenticeship

There is a moment some practitioners reach when they stop wanting only to receive the sound, and begin wanting to learn how to give it.

Maybe you've felt it already. You come to a session of Sound Sanctuary to rest, and you do rest, but somewhere in the middle of it something else stirs. A quiet pull. You start listening differently. You notice how the whole room softens when the gong swells, how a single tone can move through a body and change it. And a question arrives that will not quite leave you: what would it be like to be the one holding the mallet?

That pull is what our sound healing apprenticeship was built for. We call it The Art of the Gong, and it is a private, one to one apprenticeship with Noelia Madiedo. It is the most personal way we know to learn this craft.

From receiving the sound to giving it

To sit in a ceremony is one thing. To hold one is another entirely.

When you learn to play the gong, you are not only learning technique. You are learning to read a room, to feel where people are, to know when to build and when to let the sound fall away to almost nothing. You are learning to hold space for whatever rises in the people in front of you, and to stay steady while it does. The instrument is only part of it. The rest is presence

What The Art of the Gong actually is

The Art of the Gong is a ten session apprenticeship; three hours a week, spent one to one with Noelia. You can study in the studio here in Miami or online from wherever you are, and the two of you move at the pace the work asks for.

Over those weeks you learn the instruments and the techniques, yes, but you also learn the deeper things. How sound settles the body. How to shape a ceremony so it carries people somewhere and brings them safely back. How to hold a room when it is quiet, and when it is not. You finish with a Certificate of Completion, and more importantly, with the felt confidence to hold ceremonies of your own.

Why one on one, and not a weekend certificate

Most sound healing certification happens in a group over a single weekend. You sit in a room with twenty other people, you receive a manual, and you leave with a piece of paper.

We understand the appeal, and we have simply chosen a different path. Real gong facilitator training is not information you download. It is a skill you grow, slowly, with someone watching closely enough to catch what you cannot yet see in yourself. In a private apprenticeship, every session is shaped around you. Your hands, your questions, your instincts, the particular way you tend to rush or hold back. Noelia can see it, name it, and work with it, week after week. That kind of attention is not possible in a crowd.

The honest truth about this field is that there is no single governing body and no universal license. Which means the only credential that truly matters is whether you can walk into a room and hold it. That is what we train for.

Who it is for

This apprenticeship is for the person who feels the pull.

You do not need years of training to begin. You need genuine readiness, and the willingness to give the work your time and your care.

If you are looking for the fastest possible certificate, this is not that. If you are looking to actually learn this craft from someone who has spent her life inside it, this may be exactly it.

How few we take

Noelia keeps this apprenticeship small because she wants to know you. Not your name on a roster, but the way you listen, where you hesitate, what the sound stirs in you. She wants to watch you grow week to week and meet you exactly where you are. That kind of closeness is only possible with a few people at a time, and she would not have it any other way. There is no rush and no crowd here. Just the two of you, and the time the work deserves.

It is a gentle process. You will tell us a little about yourself and why the gong is calling you, and if it feels like a fit, you and Noelia will sit down together before anything is decided. This is the beginning of a real relationship, so it should start with a real conversation.
